A lovely neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shops, and only a short walk to Punto Lungo metro station. From there, central Rome was about 20 minutes away. A return ticket was just €3, though I'd recommend a weekly pass for convenience. Breakfast was a lovely buffet, too. The hotel was great value, much cheaper than staying in central Rome, and the staff were very nice and helpful. I'd highly recommend it.

The warm welcome at the front desk was the best part. The staff made us feel at home right away, spoke excellent English, and Marguerita, Juliana (or Julia), and Yabi went out of their way to help. They were well trained and multilingual. When we needed a taxi, they could call one, and it arrived in under five minutes. They also knew the usual fare, for example, 12-18 Euro from Roma Termini station. The hotel was very clean, our room was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was really nice, and you can get fresh squeezed orange juice. There are two bus stops on the main avenue (Assisi), and you can tap a credit card to pay for each ride. Two Metro stations are nearby, though I didn't use them because I preferred the bus. The hotel is conveniently located just off Tuscolana, a main avenue. After staying in Venice, Florence, and Pisa, our time at B&B Roma Tuscolana was our second best stay in Italy. I plan to come back on my next trip to Rome! :)

Giovanni at the lobby made the visit memorable. He was kind, always smiling, and spoke several languages, which helped everyone in our group, both English and Italian speakers, feel welcome. Even when the elevator was out for a day, his positive attitude made it easy to forget the inconvenience. Parking was safe and convenient, too. Everything else was nice, and we'd definitely come back. grazie Giovanni!

We were very disappointed. We visited Rome during a period of high temperatures, which can happen for many months of the year, and the air conditioning throughout the hotel wasn't working. We raised this with the front desk, but they offered no solution, even though air conditioning was clearly listed as an amenity. Since we'd prepaid, the whole thing felt like a bait and switch and was totally unacceptable. Stay elsewhere in Rome unless you're able to tolerate wet bulb temperatures above the point where your body can cool itself effectively through evaporation.

Book with a lot of caution. The hotel's air conditioning was out for days, not just hours, and the staff couldn't say when it would be fixed or seemed to care. During a heatwave, apparently it's fine to sleep in a room at 35+ degree. They brought in a portable AC, but the window wouldn't close, so hot air and bugs came in, and the unit was very loud, inside and out. On the first day I asked about a refund so I could stay somewhere else. They said they didn't know and told me to send an email. There are enough portable AC units around that this doesn't seem like the first time it's happened. This was the worst hotel and experience I've had in Europe, and the first time I'll be issuing a chargeback through my credit card for such an awful place.
