The Building Hotel

Breakfast was good, especially on the terrace, and the gym is a nice extra. The spa looked great. The hotel is very central, with easy Metro access and on-site parking, which is a big plus. The stylish room looked appealing at first, but it was small and clearly worn. The bathroom needs an update, and the shower leaked onto the floor every time. We could hear too much from outside the room, and the mini fridge was so noisy that we unplugged it overnight. We had a good stay, but for the price, the room quality and upkeep should have been better.

The location worked well, near both the train and Metro stations, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast had a good range of choices. But we picked this hotel for the spa, and access costs extra. The air conditioning was truly terrible: you can’t adjust it from the room, so we had to call reception to change the temperature. It was noisy every night, too. Given all that, you’d be better off choosing another hotel in Rome.

The staff were friendly and spoke English, which made everything easy. Our recently updated room felt fresh, and the bed was so comfortable we slept really well. It was nice to come back after a day out to a relaxing bubble bath in the room. One thing we hadn’t realized beforehand was that the city tax had to be paid in cash. That was no problem, and we settled it easily before checkout. A very pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it.

The service was the best part. At the last minute, we decided to get a car to Positano instead of taking a train because I didn’t feel up to traveling by train. The staff arranged everything, which was pretty amazing. They were genuinely kind. I stayed here with a group of girlfriends, and we all had a great time. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and the location was both peaceful and convenient. The spa was wonderful, a bit of a hidden gem. It set a new standard for our trips: we all agreed we need a spa day or evening on the first day wherever we travel. The building has an interesting history and architecture. I believe it used to be a Christian school. The spa was formerly the dining hall, and the café and bar space was a sanctuary. It feels interesting in its own right, not like a marketing gimmick.
