The area was quiet and upscale, with plenty of restaurants nearby and tourist sights within walking distance. We also appreciated the guest kitchen, where we could use the espresso machine and glasses for drinks. Inside, the suite was in a charming old Roman building with a tiny vintage elevator that frightened me at first but soon became one of my favorite details. Our suite was spacious and very clean, with everything we needed. The king bed was comfortable, the overhead shower was great, and the air conditioning worked well. It was nice to open the windows to a breeze over the quiet courtyard. There were thoughtful extras too, including a safe, microwave, and bar fridge with complimentary Coke, water, and a small bottle of Prosecco. It's a small, family run place with just a few rooms on one floor, so the stay felt personal. Sabina welcomed us, helped with our bags, and kept in touch over WhatsApp before and during the visit to make sure we were all set. That hospitality made us feel at home on our first trip to Rome. Thanks to Luca and Sabina for making it memorable. We'd happily come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Rome.

The location was great and the place was clean. The room layout was the issue: the bathroom was open, with no door by the sink, a see-through shower, and a nearly see-through toilet. Couples may want some privacy, and this setup takes away some of that mystery. Had we known, we would have asked for a room with a regular closing bathroom or chosen another hotel with traditional bathrooms. The hosts were helpful, though they could have been a bit more cheerful. They were alright. There were no toiletries, so bring your own, and there was no late night service since this isn't a real hotel. It was alright overall.

I went back and forth about posting an honest review. I usually keep a bad review to myself unless a business gives me a truly awful experience or costs me money, but my stay at The Points Suite was horrible from start to finish. We'd booked a Suite for two travelers who didn't want to share a bed, expecting a queen bed and a sofa bed. When Luca showed us the room on the first day of our two day stay, I asked whether the pullout had been made. He said it was only for reservations of three or more, which Expedia hadn't clearly stated. I explained that the extra bed was exactly why we'd booked the room. He eventually made it, as it was part of the booking, but seemed visibly irritated. I offered to make it myself if it was a bother. He refused, then loudly groaned about having to do it, loud enough for me to hear from the other room. It made everyone uncomfortable. The next morning, at 8 AM, my travel companion got locked out without her phone while I was asleep in the other room and didn't hear her. A couple leaving for the day agreed to call the owner so she could get back in. When Luca arrived, he yelled at her to leave and said he didn't want “people like us” in his hotel. I tried to calm things down, and he threatened to call the police. We packed up and left, scrambling to find somewhere to stay at the last minute. I asked if we'd get a refund for the night we weren't staying. He said Expedia would handle it and we'd get one night back. Two weeks later, I'd messaged the hotel several times and Expedia had reached out several times too. There was still no reply and no refund. The one positive I can give the hotel is that it has Netflix. Literally everything else was a con.

The room was clean and made a great base for our three days in Rome. Luca was welcoming and patient with our limited Italian. I'm really glad we stayed here.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and there are some nice cafes and restaurants nearby. Our accommodation was really spacious too. From here it was about a 15-20 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, and Roma Termini was conveniently close. A comfortable, handy place to stay in Rome, and I'd recommend it.
