The Rome EDITION

Our first visit to Europe, and our 45th wedding anniversary, were a lovely reason to stay at The Rome EDITION. As a Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium member who’s stayed at many Marriott properties, I found the personal service and hospitality here truly stood out. The hotel has a beautiful boutique feel, a fantastic central location, a stunning rooftop pool and restaurant, and a lovely garden dining area. Breakfast was wonderful, with fresh fruit, pastries from the hotel’s pastry chef, and beautifully prepared dishes. We loved the rooftop views, food, and service, and the concierge team arranged great Colosseum and Vatican tours so we could enjoy Rome without planning every detail. An unexpected upgrade made the anniversary feel even more special. After our overnight flight, cappuccinos and pastries were waiting for us. Our only regret was not staying longer. Many thanks to General Manager Marina Rogova, Vanessa Scano, Giulia Spiccia, Leonardo from the concierge team, and everyone else who made the trip unforgettable. The pre-arrival service was just as thoughtful. From booking onward, Marina Rogova, General Manager, and Vanessa Scano, Executive Assistant Manager, listened to my arrival time and room needs, then connected me with the concierge team for dining and transport plans. Leonardo and Sara in concierge were responsive, knowledgeable, and so helpful as we planned the trip. My last visit to Italy was over 50 years ago, so their reassurance, advice, and attention to detail meant a lot. I love Marriott properties and was drawn to The Rome EDITION for its beautiful rooftop setting. I’m glad we chose it for our pre-cruise stay, and we were already counting down to our Friday morning arrival. This is clearly a service-oriented hotel where hospitality comes first, whether you need sights, restaurants, tours, or special experiences. Thanks to the team for their kindness. We couldn’t wait to meet them and enjoy the city.

The property is beautiful, and we had an unforgettable stay. The team made our anniversary feel special, and we really appreciated it. I booked two rooms for two nights. At check-in, the very friendly front desk staff told us each room would get a $150 USD credit for meals and drinks. We relied on that and charged at least $150 to each room. At checkout, we were told the credit applied to only one room. We explained what we’d been told, and they said we’d have to contact the finance office for an adjustment. Since we were heading to the airport and couldn’t risk missing our flights, we paid for both rooms. They also wouldn’t print our folios at checkout, which surprised us. Once home, we got copies from the finance office, followed up about the missing credit, and then they ghosted us. This hotel was expensive, over $1,200/USD per night for each room. We ended up feeling like just a number and that all they wanted was our money. The rooms are VERY dark, with wood paneling. It was our least favorite location during our Italy stay and a disappointing end to an otherwise great vacation.

It’s an amazing property in a perfect spot, tucked into a sophisticated area while still an easy walk from Rome’s major attractions and top-tier dining. The design is stunning, bringing modern luxury together with historic Roman charm. The team gave great recognition to my elite status, went out of their way to make everything smooth, and the service was top-notch. If you want a luxury base in Rome, this is it.
