The Tribune, part of JdV by Hyatt

Our room was still not serviced when we came back at 5 after leaving the sign out at 8. We had to ask for towels and fresh toilet paper because the spare rolls had been soaked by a leak under the sink. As we walked in, staff were telling another couple their room wasn’t ready and they’d have to wait in the lobby. They looked very frustrated. We booked three nights because this was one of the few Rome hotels where we could use points. The stay has been well below par. We arrived around 3 pm and our room wasn’t ready, so we had a drink at the rooftop bar and expected it would be ready an hour later, giving us time to freshen up after our 12-hour flight. Instead, we were told it would take another two hours. We accepted a ground-floor room so we could shower and get on with the evening. The room is okay, but there’s lots of noise from the lobby and the adjoining room. The bathroom is a mess: several small floor tiles are missing from the shower, and the leak under the sink soaked all the spare toilet paper. The poor service on top of that is too much for what they charge in money or points. I try to be easygoing, especially in Rome when I don’t plan to spend much time in the room, but this is bad enough that I want to warn people.

The rooftop terrace was a highlight, with fantastic views and a great place to unwind. The hotel has a small, boutique feel, and the staff were consistently warm and welcoming. We saw the same people often, which made us feel right at home. It’s centrally located and close to everything, while still feeling peaceful and refined. Our room was comfortable, spotless, and well maintained, a nice place to rest after long days exploring. The food was delicious, and room service arrived promptly and was beautifully prepared. From arrival onward, the service was attentive and exceptional, and the team even arranged a late checkout, which we really appreciated. We had an excellent stay at the Hyatt Tribune in Rome and would happily recommend it. We’ll definitely come back on our next trip.

Breakfast was a memorable start to our trip, and the rooftop bar looked beautiful. The Rome location was perfect, and the property was clean and comfortable. It even went beyond what I expect from Hyatt. I'd definitely make the breakfast buffet a must if you're staying here.

The little things made a difference here. There was plenty of bottled water in the room, and gluten-free choices were available, which I really appreciated as a World of Hyatt member. I felt recognized and well looked after from check-in through departure. The Tribune's design is stylish but still comfortable, with contemporary touches balanced by a warm, relaxed feel. It felt like a carefully put-together place where the decor didn't get in the way of a good stay. I'd happily come back.
