We were traveling with our three-year-old and wanted to leave after the first night, but couldn't get a return flight at short notice. We ended up paying an extremely high rate for two more nights, then booked very expensive new flights just to get out. The room air conditioning didn't work for either cooling or heating, and the place was disorganized and nothing like the photos. It also seemed to be overbooked constantly. There isn't a proper lobby. You can't sit down for coffee in the morning because access is only allowed from 8 a.m., and in the evening they refused to let us downstairs for a drink unless we were eating. To reach the rooms, you go out to the street, enter through what looks like a garage door, cross a backyard, then climb marble stairs. There's a tiny elevator from the first floor up, about 80 cm wide and 1 m deep, but it wasn't working while we were there. This felt like a badly managed apartment building, not a hotel or boutique hotel. The staff were rude and unhelpful. They didn't apologize for our complaints, and when we left early they asked why, despite knowing the reason. Save your money and book somewhere else, or make your own experience. For us, it was a disaster.

The staff made us feel welcome from the start, even helping carry our luggage upstairs. They were kind throughout and suggested plenty of authentic local places to eat. We followed their advice and had a great breakfast. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with a balcony, and the property felt secure to me, almost like an apartment complex. We were even allowed to check in around 10 or 11 a.m., which was such a nice surprise. The hotel is within walking distance of the city's attractions, and I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Rome.

Melissa and I had such a special stay that we've decided this is the only hotel we'll come back to. The location was perfect, and the hospitality, cleanliness, and service were impeccable. We've stayed in plenty of hotels, including many five-star places, and this one still stood out. Oui was amazing, though I may have his name wrong, sorry. We'll return.
