Vatican City Relais

Our room was cleaned every day. Breakfast had been included in the price when I booked through Booking, but we didn't receive any.

We couldn't stay, even though we'd paid the full amount and city taxes in advance and the booking was non-refundable. We left early the next morning and moved to another hotel. We booked for July 27 to August 2, but the room was nothing like the photos: the bed was dirty, the shower area was far too narrow, and the air conditioning didn't work because dirt had clogged it. Construction blocked the balcony. When I told the receptionist I didn't understand Italian, she was very rude and slammed the door in our faces. We went out at 3 pm and came back at 6, but nobody was at reception, and we had no cover for the night. We don't recommend this place.

The service was a big fat zero. From the day I arrived, I didn't see any workers. We got two coffee pods for my wife and me, and extra towels cost 5 euros per person. The toilet paper was another problem. The rooms are fine, but service was absolute garbage. The building is being renovated, with workers hammering and drilling at 7 am. At night, a noisy neighbor talked loudly until 1 am, which really capped it off. We're on vacation and meant to start our days early. You can text one of the numbers they give you to complain, but you might as well text yourself. Thankfully, there wasn't an emergency, like the shower overflowing. If you don't mind the ghetto, this is your spot.

The rooms were clean and tidy, with a little bar fridge and a balcony, and the area was a nice part of Rome for food, away from the hustle and bustle. But the staff were very rude when we tried to check in during the stated check-in time. We heard other guests complaining about the service too. The rooms weren't cleaned daily, and they complained that ours was "not clean" because we had a small toddler. I wouldn't recommend staying here because of the staff.
