Hotel Verona

We stayed four nights in mid-May. The hotel is at the top of a hill, with lovely views of the basilica there. It was very clean, and the staff were amazing, polite, and helpful. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but I'd still stay again.

We really enjoyed our week in Rome, and the hotel played a big part in that. The room was comfortable and had a nice balcony where we could enjoy the spring sunshine. Staff were helpful, polite, and accommodating, and the room was cleaned regularly to a very high standard. It's a lovely hotel close to the station. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome and putting up with our feeble attempts at speaking Italian.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was faultless. Our room was spotless, with a very comfortable bed, and there was a lift to every floor. The location was ideal: a 10-minute walk to the train station, with all the tourist attractions within walking distance. I'll definitely book again.

Those lifts are awkwardly placed on the landings between floors, so getting around with mobility issues or bulky bags would be tough. You also only get one key, and have to leave it at reception when you head out. The mattress was very firm, the pillows thin and flat, and towels weren't replaced during the week, though the beds were turned down. Still, the location is amazing, the 24-hour staff and concierge are lovely, and the place feels safe. With the windows shut, there's barely any noise, although then it's hard to manage the room temperature. We'd stay again.
