Via Veneto Prestige Rooms

The location is amazing, right by the metro and major sights, but the smells made the stay difficult. I was first given room 1, which reeked of cigarettes. I complained by Whatapp and got the response, “I can’t believe it”. I couldn't tolerate the smoke smell, so they moved us to room 5, a deluxe room. They initially wanted me to pay the difference, but I refused. Then a sewage smell in room 5 bothered us, and we booked another hotel after all. We lost the whole day. Be aware they'll ask for 5 euros per person for city tax. We paid since we'd already checked in. If smells don't bother you, it may be fine. If you're sensitive to them, look elsewhere.

The room was comfy and spacious, and the location is great. But you need to contact the property 1 to 2 days before arrival to get the building access codes. Otherwise you may end up waiting on the street. Paying the city tax in cash felt very suspicious. The building's water pump stopped while I was showering. The AC cools the room, but not below 22°C, and the pillows weren't the best.

The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and everything was clean and organized. It felt like the ideal mix of an apartment and a hotel room. First time staying here, but it won't be our last!

The staff who were working were excellent. We only saw the owner on our last day, and she was very rude and unfriendly, wouldn't make eye contact, and came across as blatantly racist. Her attitude changed straight away when a white woman appeared. That's the only racism we experienced on the whole trip. It was really disheartening, and could have ruined the holiday if we'd let it.
