Villa Benedetta is near the metro, and its facilities are in line with the price. I’d had good stays here before, and hospitality used to be a strong point. But the reception from the employee on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, was the worst I’ve experienced. What happened was absurd. My children wanted to leave for another place right away, but I’d already paid 50%. I can’t comfortably recommend Villa Benedetta to people close to me after this. On this stay alone, I’d give it zero stars, though my past good experiences bring my rating to 2.
We spent two nights here and I really can’t recommend it. People were noisy until 2 a.m., then started again at 6. A group played music and smoked late, and didn’t care when we asked them to quiet down. With no night reception, there was nobody to turn to for help. Noise also comes from the location: the entrance is on via della Moletta, but the building sits beside a busy road and right over the metro tracks just before Garbatella, where trains make a lot of noise as they brake or accelerate. The metal windows are terrible and let you hear everything. There’s also a strict 7 p.m. deadline to collect the keys. My flight was delayed, so I sent someone to get them, but they only handed them over after I’d also sent passport scans for everyone staying. Rome has plenty of better value places. Just forget this hotel.
A simple, pleasant place that has what you need in an unfussy design. There’s a shared fridge on every floor. It’s central enough to walk to many places and close to different public transport options. Just don’t expect luxury or an upscale hotel.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was very good. My only issue was the lack of a socket by the bed. I use a CPAP to breathe at night, so I had to plug it into the bathroom outlet and unplug it in the morning before showering. The room’s only other socket was already in use by the TV. The staff couldn’t really control that.
The Garbatella metro station is just a five-minute walk away. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast doesn’t offer much choice, though there’s an excellent all-hours supermarket three minutes away where you can add to it. For the prices, the accommodation is perfectly reasonable.
