We paid 2100 euros a month to place my mother-in-law here. Before she arrived, she was elderly but independent: she could walk and use the bathroom alone with supervision, had no senile dementia, and wasn’t taking psychotropic medication. About a month later, we found her in a wheelchair, wearing a diaper, heavily sedated, having lost a lot of weight and mentally exhausted. We were told a doctor had prescribed the sedation because she was “agitated”; she had never taken that kind of drug before entering the facility. We were also deeply concerned by what we saw in the home’s day-to-day care. There seemed to be very few staff for about 60 residents. Hygiene and management felt inadequate: on several visits, my mother-in-law was changed in the visitors’ bathroom during visiting hours, in front of other people. There was a smell of urine, and patients were scattered around in wheelchairs. At dinner, the table used by residents was also the visitors’ table, and it wasn’t cleaned or covered with a tablecloth. When we questioned the use of psychotropic drugs, we were told plainly that they couldn’t keep her there if we didn’t accept that approach. We moved her to a smaller facility. The difference was clear. It has about 20 residents, 5 OSS, and nurses around the clock. In a short time she started eating and walking again, and she is no longer sedated. She is cared for with love and kindness, and staff pay attention to residents’ dignity and comfort, including heating the room during personal hygiene. We’re sharing what happened, with filmed evidence, for my mother-in-law and for the other elderly people who deserve dignified care and respect. Families entrust loved ones to a facility and that trust should be honored. I won’t stop with this review. A report will follow.

The staff were generally present and helpful, and did what they could. That was probably the best part of our stay. The facility itself is quite dated and needs work: beds were broken, bathroom fixtures chipped, and the furniture old. The double room had just one chair, and even that disappeared after a few days. The garden should be a highlight, but it’s completely neglected, so don’t trust the photos online. The laundry room is best avoided. Clothes kept getting mixed up, and the nicer things seemed to disappear. I brought up the problem, but people just passed the blame around. We brought nine complete outfits and got only three of them back. The rest had been replaced with other guests’ clothes, in sizes from S to XL, and the brand-new outfit we brought gradually vanished. The manager/owner was pleasant and helpful when we arrived and paid. When problems came up, though, she disappeared, along with the money she was meant to refund and the invoices we never received. They also say there’s a doctor at the facility, but we didn’t see or hear from him during three months there. Finally, if a patient dies and you don’t use their funeral home, be prepared to become an unwelcome and invisible guest.

Our mother arrived in decent shape and able to walk, but within a week she was in a wheelchair 24/7. There seemed to be too few staff for 60 grandparents, and she was completely neglected. After a month of weight loss and sedation, we urgently took her out while she was in a very serious mental state. She also smears feces and urine everywhere. The owners were extremely rude, and they charged us for service XI, which we never used. Don’t bring your loved ones here. It should be closed immediately. Report it! Please share our experience so other families can think carefully before entrusting their loved ones to this facility. A report will follow to the ASL NAS and the MUNICIPALITY.

The only good part was some of the caregivers. Alberta was especially sweet and always treated my grandmother with respect and kindness. Odette, Beatrice, and Simona were also very good. Hygiene, cleanliness, and food were fine. Everything else was chaotic, and I won’t go into the negligence we saw because some of it deserves to be reported. It was a negative experience overall, starting with the owner and some caregivers. They should consider changing jobs and showing more empathy toward people who need help.

My mother was hospitalized there two years ago and died of Covid. They made a mess of things. Hygiene was poor, and the corridors smelled very bad.
