Wanderlust San Lorenzo

I had a great stay at San Lorenzo One. The room was comfortable and clean, and good value for money. The location is excellent, near public transport, Termini station, and lots of cafes and restaurants in lively San Lorenzo. The staff were kind and helpful, especially Amel, whose friendly, professional manner made the stay even nicer. I'd definitely recommend it.

We were really happy we chose to stay with you and got to meet such kind, cheerful people. Everyone was so willing to help and full of energy. The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern, and the kitchen had everything needed to make our own meals. Parking right in front was easy, and local transport stops were close by. The rooms and facilities are old and in poor shape, my room wasn't clean, and outside noise carried through at night. The hostel is a long way from the city center, even though there are good bus and metro connections, so I wouldn't recommend it. Getting in was a bad start. The door was shut and nobody was there when I arrived, so I waited outside for about two hours before a staff member came to let me in. Even then, they made me leave again until check-in time. When I tried to raise the employees' rude behavior with the boss, I was met with irritation and a refusal to discuss it. This was the worst hostel I've stayed in.

There wasn't anywhere to lock up luggage, the rooms had no keys, and reception didn't check whether people entering the building were guests. The shower took five minutes to get hot, and the bathrooms had no hand soap or way to dry your hands except toilet paper. There was no shared space to relax or talk with other travelers. The pub next door was an option, but you had to buy something to sit there. At check-in, the receptionist acted like she'd never done the job before. She insisted on cash, though the website and booking details never said cash only, couldn't tell me where an ATM was, and tried to take my passport. I refused to walk around an unfamiliar city carrying that much cash, so she had to call another employee to bring the card machine. I paid around 92 euros a night for this rat's nest. Save your money, book early, and stay somewhere else.
