We came away with seven bottles of the farm's olive oil, and lovely memories of the time we spent with Fulvio and Katia. My friend and I made several appetizers and pastas, with great wine alongside, while Fulvio carefully talked us through each step. He was kind and knowledgeable, and made the class feel warm and fun. We traded stories and laughs and felt a real human connection despite coming from different backgrounds. It was a taste of Tuscan food and the warmth of its people. We've been back in the States for a while and are still using the tips and ingredient ideas we learned. Fulvio welcomed us into his home so warmly, and the class with my spouse, our three children, and me felt like a lesson with family. We worked together to make a simple, realistic Italian meal, then sat down and ate it. Cooking felt personal in just the way you'd hope. It's hard to explain how much this experience has stayed with my family. You really have to feel it for yourself.

Katia's farmhouse is a beautiful place, and the class there was easily the best part of our trip. We learned about traditional Tuscan food and the local way of life, with practical skills I can use in my own kitchen.
