B&B La Gerbolina

Nice.

There are plenty of books to browse, and the bathroom is especially roomy. The rooms are bright, comfortable, and kept clean and tidy. Tiziana is a real strength of the B&B, friendly and caring, always ready to help with local suggestions and give guests attention. The whole place feels calm and relaxing, with lovely scenery and flowers in the courtyard. La Gerbolina is right in the village. A minimarket is only 50 meters away, and there’s also a post office, newsagent, several bars, and a beautiful church worth seeing. It’s a good starting point for walks in the greenery, and buses run all day to nearby villages.

Tiziana was lovely to meet and very easy to talk to, and she was always willing to help. My room was spotless, bright with natural light, and had a TV and lots of books. I was in the area for a pleasure trip, with Turin just a few kilometers away and beautiful Ivrea even closer. Thanks, and I hope to see you again soon!

I’m sorry to report a bad experience with this B&B. I got in touch with the owner near the end of March about booking rooms for a bachelor party. She was kind and helpful then. I reserved three rooms and an extra bed for July, and asked about a deposit. She said one wasn’t needed. Later, she messaged that other people were asking about the rooms and that a 50% deposit was required to hold them. That was fine. But two guests couldn’t come, so I asked whether we could drop one room and keep a double and a triple for three brothers who wanted to stay together. She offered two doubles and a single instead. I explained that the siblings wanted to share, but she refused. I was about to confirm after checking with the kids, and less than 30 seconds after her last message she told me to forget it and said she’d give the rooms to someone else. I found that rude and unprofessional. It seemed to me she’d forgotten our booking and was making excuses not to honor it. I’d advise avoiding unprofessional people unless there’s no other choice, though I doubt that’s the case. Good luck to anyone staying here. 13/05/22 Good morning. From the message she sent, it didn’t sound like a suggestion to me, but more like an order. I want to quote her exact words: > I may not have a degree in literature, but that didn’t read to me like a suggestion or an attempt to avoid an uncomfortable discussion. She just preferred to pocket €45 more, that’s all. We would even have accepted, if you want to know, but her “proposal”, which felt like a flat rejection, made us look for other options.
