The staff were kind and helpful. The receptionist walked me through the city map, and when I reported no hot water in my room on the first night, they fixed it the next day. It’s a nice place for a short trip. The rooms are old but well maintained, and the hotel is a 10-minute walk to or from rialto and four minutes from the nearest vaporetto. They have a luggage elevator, and breakfast was decent.

We felt like a duke and duchess in our own little palace. The room was a dream and the highlight of our Venice trip. It’s accessible by Vaporetto, and the staff were so helpful. Great rooms and fantastic staff, everything went as well as it could.
The rooftop patio had a lovely view, and we enjoyed the breakfast. The room was clean and nice, and they held our bags before check-in. Great location too. The only downside was that someone had unfortunately stolen the single wine opener while we were there. Great spot!
We stayed here with my partner two years ago and loved it, so I recently booked it for my 17-year-old and her friend on their end-of-school European tour. They arrived on a holiday weekend to find Ca' San Polo had cancelled their reservation without telling us. They were stranded during one of Italy’s busiest tourist weekends. Staff had a room at their other property but made no attempt to put things right. We had booked weeks earlier, and I even emailed the hotel to check that everything was okay, but they never replied. Staff kept emailing to blame a third party, despite having been contacted directly weeks before. Beware, you may think you’ve booked with Ca' San Polo, then arrive in Venice with nowhere to stay and a hefty bill as you scramble to book somewhere else. It was incredibly stressful and unforgivable, especially for two young women travelling alone who were left stranded.
It was disgusting. The place smelled, there was mould, and the room was tiny. The shower head and its bar fell off, and the shelves for soap in the shower were hanging loose. There was no indication of a lift for luggage and no information about anything. It was too hot, and I couldn’t control the heating. I could go on, but you get the idea. Terrible, do not stay here. We wanted to spend as little time there as possible, and it cost more than other lovely hotels we’d stayed in around Italy. Again, do not stay here.
