Dear Piero, The peaceful setting and lovely garden made our stay especially relaxing. Your beautiful vacation home was clean and so well cared for that we felt at home right away. Thanks for your warm hospitality and useful tips for our excursions, they made the holiday even better. It was clear you care about making guests feel at home. We have so many wonderful memories and would love to return!

Piero was a wonderful host, always friendly and interested in us. He gave us lots of helpful tips for shops and restaurants and often brought us treats. The villa was beautiful and had everything we needed. We made delicious meals in the outdoor kitchen and barbecue area, and the well-kept pool was lovely for swimming. I’d recommend this place to everyone, it’s a real gem. Love, the van Erp family

The garden was lovely to spend time in, and the pool was perfect for a dip at the end of the day. We especially enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and porch. It’s a peaceful house, close to everything, and a great base for enjoying the northwest of the island. Thanks to Piero for his hospitality, he’s a magnificent host.

Update: This was an honest three-star review until the landlord called us gypsies on WhatsApp after we posted it, so I’ve changed the rating to one star. A good host takes criticism seriously instead of insulting guests. We had already raised the issues during our stay, but the photos show that a quick fix wasn’t possible anyway. Piero gave us a clothesline to hang laundry and later criticized us for using it. We even washed and hung up all the towels for the next guests, and he thanked us. We were and still are good guests. We left toys, non-perishable food, and ice cream, oiled the doors, and cleaned the barbecue utensils and grill because we wanted to feel comfortable. After the landlord’s reaction and the way he handled our criticism, which the photos speak for themselves, we won’t return. We’re writing this review at Piero’s request. We remember him as very friendly and helpful. There were good things about the stay. Piero was friendly and available, and brought us three little surprises of sweet pastries. We would have preferred good bread rolls, but we appreciated his kindness. The pool was adequate, and the house had plenty of room, three refrigerators, and a freezer. The basketball hoop was a fun extra. The location was relatively quiet, the windows and mosquito nets were great, and taking over and handing back the property went smoothly and quickly. There were also plenty of problems. The house was very hot when we arrived because the air conditioning was off, though it could have been turned on a few hours earlier. The furnishings were sparse, and some slatted bed bases were fitted backwards, so you could feel the slats through the bed. Behind the house was a mountain of garbage that clearly seemed to have been there for years, rather than being from “reorganization.” There was a lot of accumulated stuff around the house, including old and new boxes, and it would probably take several large containers to clear it all. The oven sat on a cupboard instead of being built in, its power cable was fitted in a rather makeshift way, and it never worked. The air conditioning units hadn’t been serviced, so we cleaned the filters ourselves. Not every bedroom had air conditioning, which was a real nuisance in the Sardinian summer. Some walls had been prepared, but the wall unit had evidently been missing for a while. Painting on the terrace had been started and left unfinished, with old paint rollers still lying around. The place could be made more welcoming without much effort. Almost all the terrace furniture was broken and had no cushions. The landlord said crows had destroyed it over the winter. The main entrance was unkempt. Bring adapters, as the sockets have unusual dimensions. Water pressure was unpredictable, and the mixer didn’t work properly. The top floor wasn’t really suitable to rent as it was, you couldn’t stand up in the bathroom, and the shower was unusable because of the water pressure. The internet was mediocre, so we often used our own cellular router. The doors could all have used a little grease or oil. We were also asked to pay tourist tax, and although the landlord promised twice to bring a receipt, he never did despite reminders. In one room, two closets were full of personal jackets, and the bedspreads seemed not to have been cleaned for a while. We had a good vacation overall, but wouldn’t book the property again in its current condition. Thanks to Piero for the friendly service!
