Casa Stella Country House

We loved having a pool to cool off in during the hot Italian days, and Massimo and Ryan also made it easy to explore the area. They shared useful restaurant tips, helped arrange a visit to a local ham factory, and pointed us toward a handy parking lot in Bologna. They even told us about their family history, which made the stay feel personal. The house is more than 300 years old, and walking in felt like stepping back into the world of a noble Italian family. It has so much character and beauty, with the luxury of another era. It's hard to explain how special the place and its owners are. We recommend it to anyone who gets the chance, even though part of us wants to keep this hidden gem to ourselves. We’re already planning to return and enjoy their hospitality again.

We first stayed at Casa Stella in October last year, then came back for a week at the end of July this year. It’s the kind of authentic Italian experience we’d hoped for, with lovely people, local produce, amazing food, and beautiful scenery. The house sits peacefully above the hills and has been restored with such care for its details and history. You can feel that the family traditions are still alive there. Massimo & Ryan are warm, wonderful hosts. We had a great time and can’t wait to return.

I came back in October last year after staying at Casa Stella in August 2018, and the house had been decorated beautifully, with real care for its character. It’s comfortable and has everything you need to relax in style. Ryan and Massimo are terrific hosts who can point you toward the best of the area, whether that means historic Bologna or the coast at Gabicce Mare. Take me back! The peaceful grounds make it easy to unwind, and the setting captures the lovely landscape of Northern Italy. We were lucky to stay at this charming country house.

We only booked three nights and wished we’d stayed longer. The rooms are spacious, traditionally furnished, and have modern upgrades along with all the necessities. The house is surrounded by hills, so the view is amazing, and the pool, opened last June, was new and well looked after by the hosts. Breakfast was lovely, including homemade pie from Massimo’s mother. Massimo & Ryan were incredibly welcoming. We enjoyed our stay at Casa Stella Country House and would very much recommend this B&B.
