We stopped for lunch on our way back from the sea, and the food ended up being the highlight. The house antipasto came as six different plates, each one distinctive and excellent. After that we shared three primi, orecchiette, cappellacci, and gnocchi, all with great sauces. We honestly couldn't pick a favorite. The restaurant's position right in the middle of the Salento peninsula also makes it a handy stop while crossing the area. If you like local cooking with an inventive touch, give it a try.

We make a point of coming to A Kilometrozero whenever we're in Salento. Tiziano, the owner and chef, and his brother Sandro have kept the food and service at a high level year after year. It's a lovely, peaceful setting too. Always a pleasure, highly recommended.

The antipasto misto came out a couple of dishes at a time, which worked really well. Halfway through dinner my wife said it was the best place we'd eaten at so far in Salento. I'd book ahead.

That rucola pesto on the pasta was delicious. We also loved the vegetable antipasti, with such fresh, natural flavors and lots of imagination. The house red was lovely too, rich and earthy, and made in-house. It tastes like Terra Puglia. Grazie mille xxx, I wish it were available in shops!
