Liberty Rome Suites

An absolute disgrace, and the worst place I've ever stayed. It looked nothing like the website photos. Water dripped into a bin positioned over the hair dryer and into buckets from a heater. The bunk bed ladder was so cracked the kids wouldn't climb it, and the bedding looked about 30 years old. We stayed just one night out of the four, asked for a refund so we could book somewhere else, and were told that wasn't possible. We lost $1700 and paid another $1200 to stay elsewhere.

Liberty Rome Suites came through when we had to leave our previous accommodation unexpectedly because of a health issue. We booked at the last minute, so it was a real relief to find the place spotless and the staff so kind and helpful. The location was just right for everything we needed, especially the Vatican and the metro. We appreciated the warm welcome and comfort during a stressful time. We'd recommend it and would return. Thank you!

The owner was very easy to reach, and the place was clean. Shops and restaurants are close by, and the location is really convenient, about a 15-minute walk from the Vatican. The room is in a tenement house and has a large, comfortable bathtub.

The location was good, but the staff made this a stay I wouldn’t recommend. We had to ring twice because we weren’t sure we had the right building. Although the receptionist knew we were coming, he shouted at us about respecting staff because someone might be sleeping. It was during the day, and I couldn’t see how two rings would wake anyone. My friend and I exchanged a shocked look, and he asked me arrogantly, “WHAT IS MY PROBLEM.” I let the first outburst go because I didn’t want to spoil our arrival, then ignored him again. He changed his tone when he realized I would speak up if it continued. He checked us in and showed us a room in the basement near the staff kitchen. I saw staff eating noodles there, and the smell spread through the building. Within ten minutes I felt uncomfortable and asked to move. To his credit, he moved us to a nicer, cozier room on the third floor with a terrace, and we had no complaints about that room. The room was cleaned each day, but our towels were never changed. One morning I asked another receptionist if I could use the little coffee machine and if she could show me how. She kindly showed me, then told me to make sure I didn’t spill anything. I was shocked she’d say that to a customer. What if I did, LOL? I work in hospitality in London, so I expect a high standard of customer service, especially in January when Italy’s low season is on. The location was good, but the staff put me off the place.
