We chose the apartment because it was said to have a private parking spot, but the man who hosted us just left our car at a public belvedere 200 meters farther away. That wasn't even the worst part, but it added to the feeling that the owners were being tricky. The address was given as Via Guardiola Vecchia, about 600 meters from the Messina gate, and the host was waiting for us on that street before guiding us farther and farther down. In reality, the apartment was in Via Bongiovanni, 100 meters lower in elevation than the gate, with thousands of steps to climb back up. I don't think there was any ambiguity about making us believe it was on Via Guardiola Vecchia.

At 100 euros a night, this wasn't worth it. There was no breakfast, shampoo, or shower gel, and the TV was tiny. It took hours to get the door key to work. The location didn't match the map and was on the other side of the hill, with thousands of stairs to climb, especially difficult with heavy bags. The owner didn't care whether they could drive us or arrange a taxi to get in and out. All they seemed to want was money, with no concern for what guests needed.
