A twelfth-century castle with Renaissance frescoes and new interiors by Milanese designer Paola Navone, COMO Castello Del Nero puts you in the Chianti wine region, with first-class wellness facilities and fine dining. There’s Michelin-starred La Torre, casual La Taverna, and the 'al fresco' Pavilion, along with COMO Shambhala Castello Del Nero, an elegant, cocooning wellness sanctuary overlooking the Tuscan hills. Florence, Sienna, and San Gimignano are each a 30 minute drive away. If you’re visiting Florence and skip staying here, you’ll miss a pretty amazing experience, maybe the best hotel in Tuscany. Go for it.

The staff are kind, quick to respond, and always helpful. If you have a particular room in mind, ask by email ahead of time, since they're happy to accommodate requests. The rooms are clean and beautiful, with a modern Tuscan feel and a five-star resort style. For an older Tuscan look, I’d choose their heritage room. We loved every minute of our romantic stay, with its spectacular views and wonderful guest service. We got engaged here, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you, COMO team. Grazie!

We stayed three nights with our group while touring Tuscany by bike. The place is unique, comfortable, and has lovely views, a nice facility, and an outdoor pool, but we found it overpriced. I was very disappointed to see automatic service charges of 50% on drinks. I've stayed at nice hotels around the world, and this was the first time I'd been charged a 50% tip on a single drink. After I complained, one of the managers got in touch to apologize and refunded the service charges. Watch your money, and consider this alongside the other excellent hotels in Tuscany.

The property is surrounded by Tuscany's rolling hills and vineyards, with breathtaking views across olive groves, cypress trees, and golden fields. This restored 12th-century castle is a peaceful retreat, with spacious rooms and panoramic windows. Refined details, excellent service, and the calm atmosphere make it a lovely choice for Tuscan charm, beauty, and peace.
