Stephanie made us feel very welcome and was helpful with suggestions for places to eat and see nearby. We also enjoyed the breakfast, especially the fresh pastries, fruit, and coffee in the charming dining room. At B&B Stephanie, the room was cozy, clean, and nicely decorated, a comfortable spot to unwind after a day out. It’s close to Tirano’s historic center and only a short walk from the train station. We found it a delightful stay and good value. I’d definitely come back to explore Tirano and the surrounding area.

Such a lovely place, and the woman looking after us was wonderfully generous. Air conditioning in the room would’ve made it perfect.

The shower was hot and the bed was comfy, though the Wi-Fi was only okay. We booked at 5 pm and they still got us checked in, shared some great local tips, and had a very nice takeaway breakfast ready for the morning. It’s a short walk from the train station. A great place to start or finish a Bernina Express trip. Highly recommend.

Our room, ‘Alex’, was on the ground floor beside the entrance and breakfast area, with a cobbled street right outside. Even in this small town, cars kept rumbling past until very late, so if you’re a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs. The bathroom door opened straight onto the street, which felt very unusual and unnerving. I really can’t understand the positive reviews. The owner spoke limited English. The radiator was stuck on boiling hot, and it took him a while to fix it. Then I noticed the shower hose holder was broken too, so I left it alone. The room and beds felt quite old, and I was itchy much of the night. The TV was mounted up by the ceiling, with just one English-language channel. Breakfast was help yourself, but there wasn’t much to choose from. The owner put out some meats and a few croissants that morning, while the other things seemed to be left there all the time. There was no kettle. When I asked for tea, I got a bottle of water and was told to heat it in the microwave. It felt like the place was left to run itself and aimed squarely at people watching their money. I’ve stayed in two other places in town that were brilliant, though both were fully booked this time. I never saw the owner that morning, so I left the key and went. Skip this place.
