Every element of this Residency of Art, or rather Art in Residence, draws the guest into another dimension. You’ll be fascinated by it, and the welcoming family has a way of helping you appreciate the surrounding area.

Breakfast in the gazebo was a lovely way to end our visit, with cakes, jams, and freshly baked pastries, plus a fantastic cappuccino made by the very friendly Francesca. We only stayed one night, but fell in love with this extraordinary place and will be back soon. Prices seemed average for the location. A big thank you to the whole family. Come stay, you’ll be amazed! We stumbled across this magical spot in the Tuscan countryside, just a stone’s throw from Torrita di Siena. Francesca and her father greeted us politely and warmly, and we felt at home right away. The beauty, originality, and incredible calm of the place soon had us speechless. It’s a 15th-century building furnished with taste and originality, full of paintings, statues, and other works of art created by the owner, Mrs. Anna Izzo. Our room continued to amaze us, furnished in the same style. Each room is named after a painter, and ours was dedicated to Van Gogh. I could say much more about the garden, its panoramic view of the village, and the many works created by Mrs. Izzo.

The rooms are large, but ours needed better cleaning and maintenance. The air conditioning broke, and after we asked, the staff moved us to a different room. Breakfast wasn’t provided because they said it wasn’t possible due to COVID, even though the other hotels we stayed at in the area offered buffet breakfasts. The nightly price is cheap, but a property like this could offer more. It’s a beautiful villa full of art, but the management felt somewhat amateurish and the place needs maintenance.

The location is ideal for exploring the Val d'Orcia. Anna Izzo, a versatile artist, has made this 15th-century palace a unique and unforgettable place to stay. Her kindness and warmth, along with those of her daughter Francesca and her husband, made the experience simply exceptional. Highly recommended!

It’s a one-of-a-kind setting, and meeting the artist who created this magical place makes the experience just as special. The location is also a great base for visiting Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia in beautiful Tuscany.
