Hotel Roma

We had to book at the last minute after our flight changed, and were a little worried by the negative reviews. We chose a standard double room and were satisfied with it. It had lots of light and space, especially the bathroom, which was huge by European standards, and both the room and bathroom had been updated. Staff were courteous and breakfast was adequate, though I wish there had been more fresh fruit. The train station is only a 5-minute walk away.

The beds were okay for a couple of nights, though not the most comfortable. The hotel was clean and the staff helpful. Its central location also puts all the sights and restaurants within walking distance.

The staff were nice and competent, and the rooms were clean and fine, with a new bathroom. It's a nice, recommendable hotel near the Trieste train station. The city centre is a 15-minute walk away, so it's a good choice if you're coming to Trieste by train.

The breakfast selection was a real highlight for me. The hotel is in a great spot, though the building feels neither modern nor historic, and the interior is quite cramped. Maybe renovations are still underway; I hope they improve things. The lift is tiny, and the fiber bed and pillows were uncomfortable. I also found it odd that no water was provided in the room. I don't know if that's common at other hotels in Italy.
