A good budget option if you’re fine with a simple three star place. There’s no bar, room service, or concierge. Rooms are basic and small, but clean, with an OK bathroom and a decent shower. Cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day, and the desk team were polite, friendly, and tried to answer all our questions. Breakfast was free and decent, with meats, cheese, croissants, toast, cereal, pastries, juice, tea, and coffee. The kitchen staff kept everything well supplied. The location is the main draw. Hotel Agli Artisit is in the Caneregio district, about a half hour’s walk from most major sights. Santa Lucia train station is practically around the corner, and the waterbus stop is right in front of it. The hotel is on a quieter side street just off the main drag. There’s a wheelchair accessible entrance with a chairlift. If you have limited mobility, I’d suggest asking for a ground floor room. The lift is the smallest and slowest I’ve ever seen, barely enough for two people, let alone luggage.

Staff were always smiling, and the location is just perfect. The room was clean enough, though I was disappointed there were no disposable slippers. It also lacked a few basics like a glass or kettle. Breakfast usually meant pancakes and croissants, with decent salami, cheese, and egg. Nothing special, but I didn’t leave wishing I’d eaten somewhere else. I’d normally give it a 4, but I’d like to raise their average, so I’m giving it a 5.

The receptionists were kind and helpful, and the location near the train station was really good. The room was okay, but it was odd and very uncomfortable, especially at night, that the toilet was on the second floor while the room was on the first. Avoid room 108. There was a kitchen in the room, but no kettle, plates, or cups, which I didn’t understand. It can get noisy at night. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer.

The desk staff were friendly and helpful, and they let us store our bags both before and after check-in. The location was excellent, only a five minute walk from the train station. The room was extremely basic, with a cheap bed and thin mattress. The bedside table was a small bar fridge. We had to carry our cases up two flights because there’s no lift. There were mosquitoes in the room and a strange bathroom smell. You have to choose a breakfast time slot the day before. Looking back, I wouldn’t bother, there are nicer cafes two minutes away.
