B&B Al Palazzetto

The location is excellent, right in the center of the tourist area and close to all the monuments worth seeing. The owner was nice and considerate, and the bed was comfortable. The rooms themselves were quite clean, but they weren't soundproof, so even the slightest movement or noise outside could be heard. The place was messy, especially the room used for reception and breakfast. Breakfast was average, though I loved the croissants.

The location made it easy to walk around Venice, with San Marco about 15 minutes away and shops, restaurants, and supermarkets close by. The owner gave me a map and tips for getting around, and got my room ready quickly when I arrived before check-in. My first-choice room had been sold out, but he contacted me as soon as it became available, which I appreciated. The bathroom was very clean, and the room had a TV, AC, and fridge. Breakfast was lovely, too. I really enjoyed my long weekend and have already recommended the place to friends. I’d stay again.

The room turned out to be bigger than we expected, with a fridge, AC, and bathroom. Breakfast was a treat, especially the croissants and bread rolls. It’s in a quiet spot but still close to the sights in Venice. We’d happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

The location and the private terrace were the two things we liked. We had the top room, which is nice, but the host hadn’t mentioned that his family lives next door. Their talking and cleaning woke us early, and shoes were left on the floor outside our door. The host seemed pleasant over email, yet in person barely said thanks or goodbye. He didn’t seem to care when we mentioned the noise, and his loud phone calls could be heard upstairs. We ended up taking breakfast back to our room because the living and breakfast area smelled so bad. The main spaces didn’t feel comfortable or attractive either: the entrance floor was empty, and the breakfast room had a messy reception desk with no sofa or nice place to sit. Venice can be poor value, and this stay confirmed that for us.
