B&B Hortus

Dorsoduro has plenty of art galleries and the main sights are still close by, while the area feels quieter and less touristy. The water is about an 8-minute walk away. This home is right in the heart of the neighborhood, and it felt clean, cozy, and like home. Our friendly, communicative host answered all our questions from the start. We were greeted with a generous breakfast and a lovely flower-filled garden, which made the stay extra special.

The hosts made our three days in Venice unforgettable, including helping arrange a lovely wedding anniversary surprise for my wife. When we opened the room door, there was bubbly, chocolate bombs, and flowers waiting for us. The room itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated, packed with amenities, and looked out over a gorgeous garden. After long walks and the chilly, rainy weather, the accommodation felt like a haven. Breakfast was abundant and very good, just what we needed before exploring. The B&B is in a charming, quieter area, but Venice’s many sights are easy to reach, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. We know where we’ll stay if we return to Venice. The breakfasts were wonderful, and the location was amazing. The hosts are so warm and welcoming. I honestly thought a B&B like this didn’t exist. My only issue was the bed felt too soft, though my husband and daughter didn’t have that problem. It’s really down to personal taste and what you’re used to.

B&B Hortus was the highlight of our two-week trip, even though we stayed just one night. The hosts welcomed us early and were so nice. They noted our allergies and made breakfast early because we had a train to catch. Breakfast was wonderful. Our room was spacious and clean, with an amazing view from the window. The area was quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to walk to the main areas. I’d recommend B&B Hortus to anyone!
