The location made it easy to get around, with the ferry terminal nearby for direct connections to the airport and famous sights. St. Marcus Square was only a 10-minute walk away, and we found cafes and restaurants right around us. Our apartment at Porta da Mar had a lovely sea view, tasteful and comfortable furnishings, and was spotlessly clean with brand-new furniture. Mr. Fabio and Mrs. Barbara gave us such a warm welcome, and their excellent service made the whole stay in Venice feel perfect. Many thanks to our hosts.

We came back to Porta Da Mar for a second stay and were just as happy with it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is great if you want to be away from the crowds but near the less touristy parts of Venice. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around the corner. The balcony view of the New Year fireworks was amazing. I took so many photos and videos that my phone ran out of memory :))

Barbara, the owner, made everything easy for us, from giving us clear directions to arranging a private water taxi from the Venice station. We were on our honeymoon and stayed at Porta da Mar for three days. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the neighborhood had lots of restaurants and shops. It was lively, but far enough from the heavy tourist crowds to feel peaceful. The location worked perfectly for us.

The room and staff were great, and you get the luxuries of a good hotel without paying extra for a lobby or restaurant. I'd stay again.

Barbara contacted us before we arrived, sent clear directions, and made sure everything went smoothly. We were first given a room without a sea view, but she managed to upgrade us at no extra charge. Porta da Mar is within walking distance of the market area, shops, and lots of restaurants. A great place to stay, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
