Cà Colonne by Bricola Apartments

The apartment we ended up in was listed as 40 square meters but felt closer to 32, and it was missing amenities like a coffee machine and oven. The air conditioning still wasn't fixed when we returned. Instead, there was a very loud portable unit, so we had to sleep with earplugs, and its hot air hose kept coming loose from the tape and blowing hot air back into the room. We first checked in on Monday, June 9th, and soon reported that the AC wasn't working. Staff came to inspect it twice and confirmed the problem, then moved us to a different apartment. On Thursday, while we were away on a day trip, they messaged saying we would be moved back that day “as previously agreed.” We had never agreed to that. I said we were out and could only move later in the afternoon. About 30 minutes later, they said the move had to wait until Friday because of a new issue in the original apartment. We agreed to Friday afternoon, since we had a trip planned that morning. Then at 9:30 PM on Thursday, they told us the move was now set for 10:00 AM Friday. I reminded them we had agreed to 5:00 PM, but we eventually accepted the 10:00 AM time. We packed and waited, but nobody showed. When I called at 10:15, staff thought the move was still at 5:00 PM. A representative arrived shortly afterward and helped us move. When I asked about the supposed problem in the original apartment, I was told there had never been one, someone else had simply been staying there on Thursday. That was the second time we'd been misled, and the communication was seriously poor.

It’s very close to biennale, but the place was dim and the furniture was old. Check-out at 10 is very early, and they wouldn't even let us leave our luggage there. The fridge was super noisy and made it hard to sleep in the living room.

I cancelled three weeks before the booking and wasn't supposed to pay in advance, but I've now waited more than two weeks for my money back. The landlord isn't answering or refunding me. That is a fraud!

The location was great, at the quieter end of venice but still near plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and vaparetto access. It was a nice 20 minute walk along the waterfront to St marks square. The apartment was much smaller than the photos suggested, though, and the bathroom was really tight. The hot water system was in the kitchen area and made noise all day and night.
