6/10
The room had a quirky slant to it, and we slept comfortably every night without outside noise. It was also a very central location, close to the Rialto Bridge, and good value for the price. The owner who met us was lovely, with friendly tips about things to do and places to eat in Venice. A few things were worn and dusty, so the room could use some TLC. The TV could do with English channels or subtitles.

The room was beautiful, with lovely high beams, and the location was great. The service felt awkward from the start. When we arrived, the owner barely greeted us because a religious friend was visiting. We only managed a brief conversation in broken English, and that was our only chance to speak with anyone. Housekeeping staff didn't speak English, so trying to get a clean sheet went nowhere. The bathroom was old and mouldy, and there was hardly any water pressure, which made washing my hair difficult. There was a Nespresso machine, but no capsules. Without the location and the beautiful beams, I would have rated it even lower.

The rooms were clean and spacious, and we had a fantastic host. The location was great too. Our booking company hadn't passed along the check-in details, so double-check what you've been sent. Check-in ends early in the afternoon, so let the hotel know if you'll arrive late. It's also tricky to spot, with only a tiny label on the door. I'd happily stay again.

The room was roomy and clean, and the location was great. Street noise and sounds from other guests came through, though. I'd recommend it for young couples.

Very central, and the area was a little quieter. The room was great and didn't cost much. A church bell will wake you at 9 am.
