Hotel Rigel

The breakfast buffet had all the basics and was good, though the coffee machine could use an upgrade. There's only one, and it's suuuper slow, so expect a queue. The hotel is a short walk from Lido harbor, then about a 15 minute ride to the Venice main island side. My room was tiny, basically just a bed, wardrobe, and bathroom. There was no table, only a mini shelf for the kettle, but no outlet there. There weren't any spare outlets elsewhere either, so I had to unplug the lamp to charge my phone. There was one wooden chair, but I used it for the bedspread and my clothes, leaving nowhere to sit except the bed. I was travelling alone, so it was okay, and I think the room was meant for one person anyway. It's an old, somewhat outdated hotel, but the room was clean and the staff were nice.

We booked four nights at the start of a three week tour around northern Italy, and plan to book here again next year. The hotel is near the main street but in a quiet residential area, and has a quaint garden where you can have breakfast or a drink. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. Breakfast was good and gave us a nice reason to get up. As is often the case in Italy, the rooms are on the small side, but ours was well equipped. A wonderful traditional Italian hotel.

For a family holiday in Lido di Venezia, this worked perfectly. It's a 3 minute walk to the boat docks and main street restaurants, and the helpful staff, good breakfast, and clean, nice rooms with a little balcony made for a comfortable stay. The price was low, but it had everything a reasonable holiday requires. Very good value for money, nothing to complain about.

The staff are the best part, very willing to help, whether you're sorting out travel or already staying there. Much appreciated, Hotel Rigel Team. It's an atmospheric place with period decoration and generously sized rooms.
