This is a budget-friendly base for walking around Venice all day and resting at night. It's tucked away from the main street, so it's quiet and good for sleeping. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's clean and secure, with good AC, wifi, and a fan. The bathroom has everything, though space is limited. There's no TV in the room.

The photos I took on May 8, 2026 show the mold in the bathroom, and the floors are sticky. Even at a one-star hotel, hygiene should be acceptable, but it wasn't here. I'd suggest finding somewhere else, even outside the city center, where prices are still reasonable.

There were lots of mosquitos, and I was badly bitten by bed bugs. Staff weren't around in the evening or morning, and the bedding was very uncomfortable. The rooms are tiny, with no TV or fridge, and I doubt they'd be comfortable in summer. When I reported the bed bugs, even after checking out, staff only offered to move me to another room. The owners' response to my review says all you need to know. I paid over 60EUR a night and expected not to find bed bugs. I wasn't expecting a fridge, TV, or breakfast, but I did expect the owner to address the problem or at least apologize. Neither happened. It was shameful, though not surprising. Spend your money somewhere else and don't support this owner.

The Wi-Fi worked really well, and the staff were kind. We were a short walk from the train and bus station, which suited us. The room was very clean, with a window looking onto a plain courtyard, and the cool air coming in was great. There's no TV, which was fine for us. The room was small but had a good-sized bed, so there wasn't much room to walk around, and the bathroom was compact too. I was told it was on the ground floor, though there are no ground-floor rooms. I'd call it the first floor, up three short flights of stairs.

The girl on staff carried my bag up two full flights of stairs, and the walk from the train station was only about 2-3 city blocks. There are plenty of shops and restaurants along the main street on the way, but they had no maps to offer. The hotel is down a dark alley with other hotels. It felt safe, though it looked scary at first. Our twin beds were awful, with lumpy, unsupported mattresses and sheets I couldn't tell were scratchy or dirty. My husband found blankets in the closet and folded them under the sheet for support, but one had a big wad of hair on it, so we put it back. The bathroom was atrocious: no counter by the sink, and the shower and toilet were so close you could use the toilet seat to shave your legs. The water pressure was poor, and hot water took a long time. There was no microwave, coffee maker, or anything like that, but we did have a chest of drawers, a small table, and a plug-in AC unit that worked. Venice was our least favorite of the five cities we visited in Italy, and I think this hotel was the main reason. I should have read the reviews more carefully.
