Joseph Apartments

Avoid this place. We were unhappy with the room and asked to leave the next day. Though it was already late and inconvenient for us, we agreed to go right away after the owner promised a full refund, saying it would help because other guests were ready to take the room. We had already paid in full, but they charged us for one night anyway. We emailed several times asking them to honor what they’d promised and heard nothing back. We also complained through booking, but were told the owner ignored the inquiry and they couldn’t help because the booking had been cancelled. We’d already tried emailing without a response, so I don’t think giving more specifics here will change anything. Leaving this review feels like the only way to warn other travelers. The room itself was cramped, unattractive, and cold, with a cheap-looking imitation marble floor. The photos make it look much better than it is, and getting to it means using odd staircases that looked dangerous. There are better options in Venice. Stay away from this trap.

Samy was a great apartment manager. We got lost on arrival, and he came to find us and lead us to the apartment. It was spacious, clean, and had all the modern amenities, so we were completely happy with it. There’s good food, wine, and gelato less than a three-minute walk away. One tip: Google showed the wrong address when I searched for joseph apartments, so follow Samy’s directions and you’ll be fine. Bill & Janine and Family

The apartments are close to the Sant'Angelo Alilaguna stop, and you can walk from there to several bridges and the rest of the city. The units have a modern look, good furnishings, a current kitchenette, and a full bathroom.

There’s no way to get luggage up to the first floor, and the basic amenities are lacking. There’s just one toilet, and no housekeeping during our stay. It may suit a couple without children.
