Liassidi Arco

Be aware that check-in is at the main hotel, not at the apartment. It's about a 3-5 minute walk, and we only found this out after arriving with our bags. To their credit, we called and a gentleman came down with a key and a quick introduction. The location is excellent, close to gondolas, canals, St marks square, the pier, and plenty of food. Inside, the room was a good size and modern, with a great bathroom. The bed and pillows, though, were uncomfortable. The mattress felt too springy, and the pillows were too flat. We had the junior suite, and anyone who sleeps lightly should know there's a family with kids above it. We could hear everything, from doors closing to running footsteps on a wooden subfloor. The sound insulation is poor. It quieted down when they went to bed around midnight, even on weeknights. Heavy sleepers should be fine, but I value a good night's sleep on holiday, so wanted to mention it.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. It's on the first floor, with no lift. The nearest pier is about a six-minute walk, across one bridge. You check in at Lassidi Palace hotel, about a five-minute walk from this property.

A free bottle of water was in the mini fridge, and there was an espresso machine in the room. The air conditioning worked well, and the shower and bathroom were excellent. We stayed in a double with a canal view, and the bed was enormous, more like a California King than the advertised queen. The Arco is on a quiet residential street in Castello, just steps from good restaurants, shops, and cafes. Check-in and check-out at Liassidi Palace were easy. On the first day the attendant asked if we wanted turndown service, but we didn't get it on the other days. The bath products kept changing brands, which made them feel a bit like leftovers.

The room was very clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the location was quite good. We did miss having a corkscrew, especially since there was even a little fridge in the closet.
