NH Venezia Santa Lucia Hotel

Over five nights while attending a wedding, we had several problems that fell far below what I expect from a four-star hotel. The front desk told us a city ordinance meant the air conditioning couldn't be switched on, but other wedding guests at the same hotel said theirs was working. We couldn't change rooms, so we slept with the windows open and got mosquito bites and poor sleep every night. Construction noise started at 8:00 AM, and church bells rang for long stretches in both the morning and afternoon. There was a dry cleaning bag in the room, but when I tried to use the service I was told the hotel doesn't offer dry cleaning. We repeatedly raised these issues at the front desk. Each one was disappointing on its own, and together across five nights during an important occasion, they meant the hotel failed to meet basic four-star expectations.

The terrace is nice, and the staff are great. Breakfast was alright. It feels a bit overpriced, but the location is perfect if you're carrying heavy luggage. I can recommend this place!

I spent over 20 years planning a hypothetical trip to Venice, with so much research and thought put into it. I couldn't be happier with my hotel choice, and I'd absolutely stay here again if I get the chance to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the room was huge and very clean. It's in a beautiful location with views of the grand canal. Two thumbs up for sure!

The garden was a lovely place to sit, and there were relaxing areas throughout the hotel. Our room was very spacious, and breakfast each day was delicious with lots of choice. The location is amazing, close to the train station and Grand Canal. We arrived exhausted after a day of travelling, and the woman who checked us in was friendly, understanding, and so helpful throughout our stay, though sadly I didn't get her name. She also recommended a lovely bakery for much-needed coffee and cake. We'd definitely book again if we return to Venice.
