The stairs are steep and narrow, which was tricky with our big suitcases and could be difficult if you have knee problems. The staff kindly carried our bags upstairs when we arrived, which helped a lot. Inside, the building was quiet at night despite a lively bar across the canal, thanks to the good soundproofing. Palazzetto Barnaba is a cozy little place in a quiet lane, right in central Venice, with most main sights reachable on foot in 10-20 minutes. A lovely, charming stay.

The balcony and its beautiful view made up for the bathroom's strong smell and the unreliable Wi-Fi in our top-floor room. We still had a great stay, and it did mean less time on our phones, haha. The location was great too, with all of Venice within walking distance.

The view from our room was lovely. The room matched the description and had air conditioning plus the toiletries we needed, and you can ask for a steamer if you need one. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for walking around most of Venice, and the ferry stop was well connected, with a boat directly from the airport.
