Palazzo Cendon Il Piano Nobile

The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, and their renovation gave each night a feeling of traveling back to the Serenissima Repubblica. The hotel was cozy, conveniently located, and had very polite staff. Most of all, one of the young employees showed real kindness by preparing breakfast early on the morning we left, even though it wasn’t included in the price. Grazie per tutti! Arrivederci!

The room was spacious, with a whole living room as well as a bedroom and bathroom, but I woke up covered in itchy bug bites and felt dirty after staying there. Much of the furniture had black spots all over it, maybe mold. The hotel asked us to pay our fees in cash, specifically requesting coins, which seemed odd. We chose this hotel because it was advertised with WiFi and AC, but neither worked as promised. WiFi didn’t work at all during our stay, and the room was extremely hot. The AC did nothing, so we struggled to sleep. Unfortunately, that spoiled a lot of our honeymoon trip to Venice.

Watching Venetian sunsets from our lovely balcony room on the canal was a real treat. The mini bar was stocked, and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Check-in was available until midnight, and we had no problems with noise or a/c. A wonderful stay.

The staff were extremely attentive and helpful, and the location was nice, with good restaurants nearby and a canal right in front. There’s also a water bus station directly across the canal, plus plenty of food and shopping options close by. The room itself was fine, with a living room beside the bedroom, and the bathroom was adequate, if a bit small. The real problem was the bed and bedding. We got only a thin cover instead of a blanket, thinner even than the towels, and the cheap pillows barely lifted our heads. Every night was a struggle to sleep, and restful sleep matters on vacation. The air conditioning seemed to work more like ventilation than actual A/C, though that may be common in this part of the world. The bed and sheets need a serious rethink. Two stars only because of the helpful staff and nice location.
