Hotel al Piave

The staff were lovely everywhere, from housekeeping to the front desk, and there’s a laundromat just a few doors away, which worked out great since we travel with carry-on bags only. We stayed with our college-age kids in a two-bedroom, one-bath quad, and it was perfect for us. The location and amenities suited inner Venice well, and the Wi-Fi was excellent and secure, unlike at other places in Italy. One suggestion about breakfast: it could be much better. We chose the later seating, and the eggs were usually gone, with very little meat left.

The bathroom had no window or ventilation, which was the one issue for me. For Venice, though, the price was okay. The hotel is centrally located, close to everything you might want to do, and the rooms are beautifully furnished, compact but thoughtfully laid out, and very clean. Breakfast was very good.

Our four-person room was much nicer than the online photos suggested, and we were so impressed. We came across friendly, helpful staff throughout the hotel. Breakfast was great, and the location made it easy to reach most attractions. Our room was reached through an enclosed, secure courtyard from the main hotel, which we loved. If we return to Venice, we’d probably stay here again.

Our room felt like a tiny Venetian Polynesian boutique hotel, and we thought it was precious. It was beautifully decorated with lovely Murano pieces and immaculately clean. They made great use of the small space, with enough room for our luggage and extra pillows, and it was nice and cool when we came back hot and sweaty. The room had everything we needed. The front desk people were lovely and helpful every time. Breakfast was small, clean, and well done, with excellent servers. The choices were average, but better than nothing. I would have liked a few more Italian breakfast options. The hotel is in a great spot, within easy walking distance of everything. There’s also a little food stand right next door with great, cheap food, though I can’t remember its name. We loved walking up to the original front door with its little lion bell, then realized we’d come in from the opposite side. What a quaint little place.
