Palazzo Pianca

The reception team replied quickly and were friendly and helpful the whole time. We also liked having free minibars in the rooms. Everything felt clean and elegant with a modern style, and the location put us close to everything. We had a really great stay at Palazzo Pianca.

The room didn't look as nice as the pictures, and better upkeep could make it much nicer. The bathroom sink was cracked all over and looked close to breaking. It was extremely moldy and not very clean, with hair left in the bathroom by previous guests. One night was manageable, but I wouldn't want to stay longer.

I had paid for three nights, but no longer needed the room for the first night. I checked whether arriving the next day would be okay, and Maur told me it wouldn't be a problem. When I showed up the next day, Lilian, a different man at the desk, was curt, rude, and unhelpful. He said that missing the first night counted as a no-show and that I would lose the payment, even though I'd paid for all three nights. He called it company policy and told me to take it up with the travel agent. Getting conflicting answers from hotel staff was extremely frustrating, especially while stuck during a holiday, and customer service didn't seem to be a priority.

The location, right next to the Gritti Hotel, was a perfect base for exploring Venice, and Francesca upgraded our room. The terrace had beautiful views, and the design felt carefully put together, with a real sense of soul beyond simple function. You can tell a talented team of architects shaped the space. The reception gentlemen were professional and went out of their way to help us feel welcome. Our mini bar stayed stocked with water, Bellini, and Prosecco; fresh coffee was ready each morning, and touches like Marvis toothpaste and Culti products showed real attention to guest comfort. After reading so many reviews, I'm glad we chose Palazzo Pianca. Our stay was unforgettable, and I can't imagine it would have been nearly as good elsewhere.
