We came back to this hotel after staying here at the same time 13 years ago, and had a wonderful time again. We were there in October. The staff were superb, and the plentiful breakfast was amazing. The beach was great, and there were some lovely running routes. It's away from Venice's hustle and bustle, and the locals are friendly. Shops and amenities are close, and buses run very frequently for the water taxis into Venice. What a great place to stay on Lido.

We spent two days at Marea Hotel Petit Palais on the Lido, and the short break felt luxurious and restorative. It lives up to its "Petit Palais" name, with a calm, elegant atmosphere that makes it feel like a hidden gem. The service was the standout. Everyone, from the front desk to the dining area, was genuinely warm and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They seemed to anticipate what we needed, which made the experience feel personal.

The front desk team were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The hotel is right by the beach and close to restaurants and shops. Breakfast had a very good selection, though the coffee was weak and tasteless, possibly because there was only one server. I also wish there had been a coffee machine in our room.

We spent four nights at Hotel Petit Palais on Lido at the end of March 2025. Starting on the second night, a very strong, unpleasant smell filled both the bathroom and room at night, then disappeared by morning. We kept the window open for air, but passing cars disturbed our sleep. By checkout on the last day, the smell was horrible and had stayed even during the day. We'd had good service, so the cold response when we mentioned it at checkout was unexpected. They acted as if the smell were normal, said it might happen when tide levels fluctuate, and apologized. They also asked why we hadn't raised it earlier, but didn't seem to take the complaint seriously. We've never had an experience like this before, and didn't expect this kind of problem at a four-star hotel.

The hotel is right on the water, and the beach is free. They can help arrange a cabana rental. Bring plenty of bug spray or buy some ahead of time: there are mosquitoes everywhere, and they follow you! Staff were great at communicating and seemed to know the common questions, so we never felt we had to ask. Breakfast was superb, my favorite. There are lots of small shops, restaurants, and bars nearby, though island life means some places close early or serve dinner late.
