Piccolo Tiepolo

My son had accidentally left his ipad in the room before checkout, and Find My showed its last location in the room. At reception, the receptionist said she’d talked to a colleague and they hadn’t found it, without even asking anyone first. We thought that was odd and were nearly ready to leave without it. When we went back and pointed out that the tracker still showed it at the hotel, she finally checked with her manager. The manager immediately said they’d found an ipad in the room earlier that day, and was very helpful and nice. The receptionist was deceitful and honestly quite incompetent. She apologized, but if I hadn’t asked for the manager, a million apologies wouldn’t have got the ipad back.

We booked at the last minute and really enjoyed our stay. The old building has lots of character and charm, with a nostalgic feel if you like a traditional hotel, though the rooms are outdated. It dates from 1860. There are steps and no lift, and no kettle, but an amazing coffee shop is just a 10 meter walk away. The location and staff were amazing. Thank you.

It’s an old but comfortable hotel in an excellent location, close to the vaporetto and St Mark's basilica. Still, some basic things were missing. Only one spare power outlet in the bedroom worked, and there wasn’t a single bathroom hook for towels. We couldn’t dry both towels at once, so one had to hang from the door frame while the other stayed wet on a chair.

The staff were super friendly, and we were offered a better room at check-in for just 10€. We took it and got an awesome canal view, with gondolas passing by. The hotel is five minutes from Piazza San Marco, with tons of restaurants nearby. It was a great experience, and we’ll definitely return.
