Residenza Briati

Campo Santa Margherita is in an excellent spot, close to everything, and a nice place for children to run around, play, and chase birds. We had the superior matrimoniale camera, though it was a simple room. Having a private bathroom was unusual in Venice, so we felt lucky to have one.

It looks quite different from the photos. The place wasn't clean, and the bathroom smelled. At night the area was really noisy, with drunk people laughing and shouting for hours. It was very unpleasant. I don't recommend it at all.

We liked staying here, especially being beside Campo Santa Margherita. There are plenty of restaurants, a cafe, and a couple of grocery shops nearby, though the square is known for students partying late. It didn't bother us much, but that could be a plus or a minus depending on what you want. This area is also a good way to get away from the huge tourist crowds, although reaching the usual sights takes quite a walk. Our room was good quality and had its own bathroom, which I think isn't the setup in most rooms. The bed was very firm, and the staff cleaned every day.

A decent hostel, with helpful service and a good location.
