Residenza Grisostomo

The street could be noisy at night, and the windows aren't double-glazed. Also, the shared bathroom and toilet can mean a long wait, and while one person is using it, nobody else can shower or brush their teeth. Separate bathroom and toilet facilities would help a lot. Still, we had a good stay. The rooms are nice, the location is very good, and breakfast is included. The price is good for what you get.

Breakfast is included at a restaurant on the Grand Canal, and the room itself was clean. The location is lovely, right by the Rialto. The main drawback is sharing what seemed to be one bathroom for the whole place. There were six girls staying while we were there, so it was manageable but not ideal. I can only imagine the wait when more than two rooms are occupied. If sharing with strangers doesn't bother you, the location and room are great.

We got a lot out of the location while exploring the city. The place is basic and doesn't have amenities, but it was clean, which matters most for somewhere to spend the night. We were nervous after reading the reviews, but everything went smoothly. Our flight was so delayed that we missed the last airport bus. The receptionist was incredibly patient, kept checking on us, and waited until we arrived at 2:30am. If you miss the last bus too, the advice was to share a cab with others to Piazzale Roma, about €40 for the whole ride.

The family room was nice, and although the toilet is shared, it was clean and fine. The price was reasonable for Venice. It's about a 10-minute walk from the room to the Rialto bridge, a well-known landmark.
