Riva Palace Apartments by Wonderful Italy

We were a family of five on a recent Italy trip and stayed two nights at Riva Palace Apartments. The location was good, but I doubt we’d return or recommend it. Check-in was difficult, there was no front desk, and the owner wasn’t very friendly when we reached out. With no numbers on the outside doors, finding the right apartment was a struggle. Inside, it didn’t look like the online photos. The shower door wouldn’t close properly, so water spilled onto the floor. I messaged the owner and was told a technician would come the next day, but the door still didn’t shut, and I’m not sure anyone came. We had to stand in the far corner of the small shower to use it without making more of a mess. There was no shelf for toiletries, and we were told we’d be charged for replacement towels even though we’d used ours to mop up the water. I disputed the charge, and we weren’t billed. There’s no elevator, and the windows were hard to open. Thankfully, our stay was only two nights.

I wouldn’t recommend this at all. We arrived but never received the door code. When we called, they said they were overbooked and couldn’t host us, even though we’d already paid in full.

The location is nice, though the place could be cleaner.

We were eight, four adults and four kids, and the apartment was large enough for us to be very comfortable. The location is excellent, just steps from Ponte di Rialto and a minute from the "San Silvestro" vaporetto stop. The place was clean and the wi fi worked fine. We had no in-person contact with staff since everything was handled by email or WhatsApp, as is common now. We did meet the cleaners one morning, and they were very kind. The value for money was great, though we visited outside high season and there were no major events on. A few furnishings could use a refresh. Since there’s a kitchen, it would also be nice to have basics like oil and salt available, but those are small details. Recommended!
