San Marco Apartment Near The Clock Tower

Breakfast arrived 20-30 minutes late both mornings and there wasn’t much of it. The owner seemed rushed and distracted, and the service was terrible. We also had very hot, dark, uncomfortable nights: the air conditioning didn’t work despite the owner telling us twice that it did, and one window screen was broken despite being described as fine. With Venice’s mosquitoes and morning sun shining straight into the B&B, we had to keep the shutters closed to sleep. I’m sorry to say our stay was poor. I’d choose somewhere else in Venice.

Marco and Alice were lovely, and their home had everything we needed. We stayed in a bedroom that shared a bathroom with another guest, which worked out well. The B&B is on a quiet canal, with the tourist sights still an easy walk away. We’d be happy to stay with them again if we get back to Venice. Grazie mille, Marco e Alice!

The rooms are lovely, with a real eye for beautiful things, and the neighborhood is peaceful and well situated. The landlords are a wonderful, welcoming family who care about keeping Venice’s authentic character. This was the best place to sleep in Venice!

There’s a lovely view of a quiet street over the canals, with very little traffic. The hosts were warm and kind, and brought out small Italian sweets with coffee each morning. Definitely recommend :)
