I really hated my three-night stay here. I don't understand the high rating, so here's my honest experience. Mateo was pleasant at check-in, but I didn't see another staff member during the next three days. The room felt old and dirty, though I knew I was booking budget accommodation and told myself it was only somewhere to sleep. Looking back at the photos, only one shows what I got. The others, even the bathroom shots, look much nicer than my room. I hand-washed socks, underwear and T-shirts on the first night, wrung them out and hung them up, but they were still wet three days later. The room was an icebox. I opened the window on night one, but the sewage smell outside made me shut it immediately. Each day I went exploring and came back to a freezing room, even though I'd left the air conditioning on its highest temperature. One day I put the DO NOT DISTURB sign up because I thought the cleaner was changing the AC setting, and I didn't feel the room was really being cleaned. I left the key in the slot so the power would stay on, but someone entered anyway. The sign was still up when I checked, and sure enough the AC was colder than I'd left it 🤬. I shivered under the covers every night and in the shower each morning. I got a fever, chills and a terrible chest cold during the stay. The pillows were the thinnest I've ever slept on. I looked for someone to ask for more, but couldn't find anyone. I found an extra pillow in the closet with no case and put it under the cased one. After the first night I hoped the cleaner would notice and add a case, but it was still bare three days later. Someone came in and made the bed every day, yet never put a pillowcase on it. Disgusting. At around midnight on my last night, only my room lost power. I had to pack my bags and get ready for the airport by cellphone flashlight. I also found no batteries in the TV remote, and since I couldn't find an employee, I had to buy batteries myself. There were gnats and mosquitoes in the room too. I strongly recommend booking anywhere else.

The hotel itself didn't offer much in the way of amenities, for example, there was no breakfast. Still, it was clean and spacious, and the gentleman who greeted us was very friendly. The location was fantastic, easy to walk wherever we needed to go. We enjoyed watching gondoliers pass on the canals right outside, and there was a bakery across the street for morning coffee. We'd happily stay again. Thank you for your hospitality!

The location was great, with a nice view over the canals, and the room itself was nice. There was no reception, which was a pain. The worst part was an ant infestation. My girlfriend and I were covered in bites, even though we had no sugary snacks in the room. Such a shame about the ants.

It's a beautiful place in a good area, but I was disappointed by how freezing cold it was. There are two different heating methods in the room, and neither works. Still, it's nice.
