Venice Times Hotel

We booked one night in January and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The room was small, modern and clean. Breakfast had a good range, and everyone we spoke with was informative and hospitable. Ralph was especially great during breakfast service. The hotel is close to the train, bus and ferry stations, but tucked far enough down a side street that it wasn’t too noisy or crowded. Highly recommend!

The staff were a highlight for me. They were always available to answer questions and offer recommendations, and the breakfast was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. I started each day with a cappuccino, and there was fruit, eggs, bacon, croissants, pastries, juice, pancakes and more. The hotel has stylish, modern decor, including in the clean, comfortable room. I also loved the outdoor patio. St. Lucia train station is just around the corner, and the Vaporetto is close by too. Rialto and Piazza San Marco are within walking distance. If you’re arriving from the airport, contact the hotel for advice on the best route. There are no cars beyond Piazzale Roma, so if you have a lot of luggage, ask about porter service. They can help make arrival easier.

We hadn’t planned to stay overnight in Venice, but a national train strike canceled our train and left us with no choice. It was already 11 p.m.; everything was closed, and a lot of hotels couldn’t take a group of eight. After trying door after door, we were so relieved to find rooms at Venice Times Hotel. Receptionists Fatima and Victor were kind, patient and understanding while we were stressed. When they found out we had to leave at 5 a.m., they even prepared breakfast snack bags for us. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, just what we needed after a long night. I’d absolutely recommend the hotel, whether you’re planning a visit or end up in the same sort of situation we did.

The reception staff were excellent, and the hotel is in a very convenient location. One gentleman on reception was especially friendly and helpful at 5 p.m. the afternoon before we left on 25 February. We checked out at 4 a.m., and he offered and prepared breakfast bags for the next day. Well done, Venice Times Hotel. We’d stay again. The hotel feels cosy. The buffet was small but had everything we needed, in quantities suited to the size of the place. Breakfast offered one barista-made coffee, with instant coffee and tea also available. Our first room assignment was beside construction, with jackhammers and other noise in the adjoining building. After we complained, we were moved fairly quickly. At the time of our stay, I’d avoid rooms 111 and 110 because of the noise.
