Grand Canal Suites was a pleasant enough stay, with a spacious, tidy room and the usual supplies like sheets, towels, and a hairdryer. We had room 5. The location is ideal, directly opposite the bus and train station, yet surprisingly quiet. It worked well for exploring Venice and for trips to places like Verona and Milan. We didn’t book a water view, so didn’t mind not having one, and it was handy to leave our luggage safely in a locker in the central hall before the room was ready. There’s no staff on site, and entry to the building and room is all handled with personal codes. It took a little getting used to, but worked fine. We contacted staff by WhatsApp and got quick replies. After the second day, though, the shower stopped having hot water. We reported it, they handled it properly, and we received compensation, which we appreciated. We were satisfied with the stay, especially the location and roomy accommodation.
