The view from this agriturism is amazing, and the family is sweet and relaxed. The apartment was five-star perfection. It's linked to town by a bike path, or you can walk there in five minutes. Val Pustera Region is a great base for family outings, including turquoise Lake Braies and the gorgeous Prato Piazza hike, which starts at 2,000 meters and is stroller-friendly, the best one in the Italian Alps. A great place to start a real Italian Alps adventure. Written by an American who's lived in and visited the area for 15 years.

The apartment was clean, roomy, and cozy, and its location was just right, an easy walk from the town center. The place is very nice. The amenities are quite basic. I had pictured being more involved with the farm, even if that only meant having its activities explained to the kids. We didn't ask about it, to be fair, but I had imagined something different. Still, it was a great experience overall.

The apartment itself was very nice, and the landlords were very friendly and gave us excellent hiking tips. But in the west-facing apartment, the wood-chip heating system starts up by 5:30 a.m. at the latest, and its noise wakes you. You won't need an alarm clock. If a restful holiday and a good night's sleep matter to you, this apartment isn't a good fit.

We spent Easter with Karin and Franz, who were kind and helpful throughout. Their farm is in a lovely, quiet spot surrounded by nature, with a clean, spacious, well-kept apartment and a terrace facing the mountains. It's a great starting point for cycling or hikes. Karin and Franz make you feel at home, offer advice, rent out bikes, and can take you to the beautiful Lienz cycle path and the Loacker factory. And there's freshly milked milk to enjoy. Recommended!
