Aladdin Camp

The food was acceptable, but that was about the only part of my stay that met expectations. At Aladdin Camp, we were charged an extra 49 JOD for a “desert vehicle tour.” It turned out to be a transfer from the parking area to camp, about 15 minutes, with no tour or explanation. The staff's attitude also felt unprofessional. Our room was in poor condition, as the attached photos show. A thin metal door rattled in the wind all night, and the hot water came through at an extremely weak pressure. There was no water cooler in the room, and electricity was cut off at 8:00 a.m., apparently to push guests to check out early. The room also looked out only at a mountain. Many basic services required extra payment. I wouldn't recommend the camp given the facilities and service.

The jeep drive, DJ party, and stargazing were the best parts of our stay. They were fun and well organized, and both buffet meals, breakfast and dinner, had plenty of good options. There is no phone signal at camp, though you can call from the main lobby phone or ask for a short ride to the main road, about five minutes away, to get reception. The accommodation was a letdown. I had specifically asked my travel office for a clean bubble camp with activities, and they recommended Aladdin Camp. The bubble room had a beautiful view, but there were men's hairs on the sheets. With no phone in the room and no mobile service nearby, we had to walk to the lobby to ask for clean sheets. The replacements didn't look very clean either. There were no towels, and the toilet was in poor condition. We paid about $80 per person for one night, including the room, DJ party, and both meals. I wouldn't suggest it if you want a clean, relaxing place to stay in Wadi Rum. It seems more suited to people focused on activities than on the room.

Hussein was really kind and made us feel at home. The staff at Alladin camp were welcoming, the food and entertainment were amazing, and they know how to make sure you have a great time. I hope I can come back!

The location was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I had a great time at Aladdin camp, with lovely service and food. Nothing about the experience left me wanting more. For trips in wadi rum, this will always be my first choice, 10/10.
